Description

Voice Mail provides a convenient and flexible voice messaging service for people with a campus phone number. Callers can leave a voice message when the telephone is busy or not answered, or they can be manually forwarded directly to voice mail. Standard features of the service include the ability to record separate messages for each of these options, and retrieve and save messages from any telephone. Additional features are also available.

Who can use this service

This service is available to anyone who uses the campus telephone service provided by CITES.

When the service is available for use

Supported Service Hours:
Twenty-four hours a day, excluding the no-service hours listed below

No-Service Hours:
5:00 A.M. to 7:30 A.M. on the first Tuesday of every month

What you must have in order to use the service

  • Campus phone number
  • Completed Telephone Service Request (TSR). Faculty, staff, and allied agencies should contact their Unit Telecommunications Coordinator.
  • A one-hour Voice Mail training session is strongly recommended for each new subscriber. Once the Telecommunication Service Request requesting Voice Mail service has been processed, new subscribers will be contacted by the CITES Service Request Management Office to set up a date for training.

Subscribers to the Voice Mail service can choose from among several optional features with various costs. For information about each feature and its associated cost, visit the Voice Mail homepage.

How to request changes to this service

How to find out about changes to this service

  • Voice Mail subscribers will be notified by a system-wide voice mail message. In addition, Unit Telecommunications Coordinators will be notified to inform their unit's subscribers of any changes.
  • Students will receive a special newsletter by mail that will contain an announcement of any service changes.
