Description

CITES NetFiles provides web-based file storage accessible from any computer with a web browser and internet connection. The secure web interface features a simple and convenient way to upload, store, and access files and to publish web content. Guest tickets can be created so that files can be accessed by others for sharing and collaboration. CITES NetFiles also includes WebDAV for those who want to create a web share on their WebDAV-capable operating system.

When the service is available for use

Supported Service Hours:*
Twenty-four hours a day, excluding the maintenance hours listed below

Maintenance Hours:
5:30 A.M. to 7:30 A.M. Monday through Friday
5:30 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. Saturday
5:30 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. Sunday

*The sign-up tool for first-time users to create a NetFiles account is supported from 8 A.M. to 5 P.M. Monday through Friday.

What you must have in order to use the service
  • NetID
  • Active Directory password,
  • Computer with internet connection
  • Web browser with 128-bit encryption (most recent versions of web browsers have this capability)
  • If using a web folder or share, must have a platform with an OS that supports WebDAV (Windows 2000/NT/XP and Mac OS X). Unix OS must have third-party software.

Cost

A subsidy provided by the Provost on behalf of the campus allows CITES to provide a standard account with 500 MB of space at no charge.
