Description |
Everyone with a campus affiliation has an entry containing their NetID and demographic information in the Illinois Directory. The Illinois Directory, also known as PH, has two main functions. The Illinois Directory is used in conjunction with Kerberos authentication to check the type of affiliation a person has with UIUC to see if he or she is authorized to use campus services. Some services that use the Illinois Directory for authorization include Bluestem, VPN, UIUC Dialup, UIUCnet Wireless, Active Directory, Site Licensed Software, and Walkup Computing. The Illinois Directory is also a white pages service used to look up information about people, departments, and groups on campus. |
